Orientation
Your tour will officially start at your arrival hotel at 7.30am on Day 2.
Make sure you have packed your bags, eaten breakfast and have checked out of your room before meeting your tour leader in the hotel lobby. You will spend a few minutes filling out paperwork and meeting your fellow travellers before departing the hotel. This is a great time to ask any questions that you may have. Health, safety and other information will be covered at this point, or just after you have set off.
Accommodation and Meals
You will spend 6 nights in comfortable hotels, and 3 nights in cabins. During camping nights, equipment will be supplied, including large dome tents, inflatable sleeping pads and camping chairs (you will need to bring your own sleeping bag). Camping allows you to stay in areas surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery without the crowds. Due to the rugged terrain and isolated areas that you will visit during this tour of Alaska, some of the campsites will have quite basic, rustic facilities.
Freshly prepared, delicious meals are provided for you and included in the costs of the tour however, you will be asked to help out with food shopping, preparation and washing up. The guides will shop locally and create healthy, hearty breakfasts, picnic lunches and gourmet dinners for you to enjoy as a group while camping.
Programme Support
Throughout your trip you will have the support and guidance of the tour leader. They will provide you with competent assistance and help you with any questions, or advice you may need.
In addition you will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff during your tour should you need to.
Project Age Limit
There is a minimum age limit of 18. Most travellers are between 25 and 55, although participants younger and older than this join the programme every year. If you are over 55, you will be asked to declare your fitness.
