Australia Outback Ranch Training

Trip code: OZOG
Train as a ranch hand in Australia

A unique opportunity to become an authentic Jackaroo or Jillaroo in the true Oz outback! Whilst at the ranch you will acquire invaluable skills and take away fun memories while enjoying a real “great outdoors” experience. You will have the chance to go horse riding, mustering, quad biking and doing general farm hand work such as driving tractors and helping with boundary fencing. There will be plenty of time to relax too.

Accommodation and Meals

The programme offers flexibility in terms of accommodation. Upon arrival you can choose to spend your first two nights in either in a bed and breakfast or in a backpacker hostel.  The B&B is located at a quiet bayside suburb in Birkdale, Brisbane and has three private guest rooms with TV and en-suite.

The hostel is located near the centre of Brisbane city. You will stay in dorm style accommodation.

For the next five nights you can choose to either stay in dorm accommodation or in a farmhouse located on the ranch where twin or double rooms are available.  The group sizes are relatively small and there is a real ‘family’ atmosphere at the ranch. Our trainers will be on site with you all the time to answer any questions you may have.

You will be served up great food for the duration of your stay at the ranch, including visits to the local pub and a Friday evening BBQ.

Programme Support

All through your programme you will have the guidance and support of our staff and trainers at the ranch. They will assist and help you with any questions you might have or advice you may need.

Age Limit

If you choose option A, due to Working Holiday Visa restictions you must be between 18-30 years of age.

If you choose option B there is no upper age limit on this programme.

Programme Requirements

You must hold a drivers license, preferably manual rather than automatic.

Project Support

Throughout your stay you will have the support and guidance of your local project coordinator and team. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your stay. In addition you will have access to a 24 hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.
