Your Typical Itinerary
Your time at the ranch will be an amazing experience where you will learn all sorts of new skills that you never thought you would try. Your days will start early allowing you to enjoy the tranquil peace of the early morning with a quick breakfast before heading up to the farm to start the activities. After a morning of activities you will break for lunch in a stunning location nearby where you will have the chance to refuel and cool off in the air conditioned house or you may prefer to take a refreshing dip into the local billabong.
Saturday - Sunday
You will be met at Brisbane airport and taken to a bed and breakfast in a quiet bayside suburb of Brisbane to catch up on sleep and relax. These first couple of days give you a chance to explore Brisbane and relax before going to the ranch to start the action packed programme.
Monday
Today you will be taken to the ranch to get stuck in and experience the real Aussie outback! Transport from Brisbane to the training ranch is included in the programme fee and you will arrive just in time for lunch.
The afternoon will be spent on the farm having fun riding quad bikes, motorbikes and taking a leisurely horse ride.
Tuesday to Friday
Now the fun really begins as you get to experience lots of real Aussie Jackaroo activities. Day to day activities may vary but generally you will be doing:
A day of quad and motor biking: Time will be spent teaching you how to ride. For most people it is their first time and our trainers are extremely supportive and patient giving you the encouragement to learn. Once you feel comfortable and confident you will go on long rides around the property and you can choose whether to make it a leisurely pace or an exciting ride!
A day of horse riding: The ranch is home to a number of beautiful horses and all are suitable for those learning to ride for the first time, or participants with lots of previous experience. You will spend time in the paddock saddling your horse before setting off on trek that will be suitable for all levels of riders.
A day of farm activities: Today you will learn all manner of new skills as you are taught how to use a chain saw, drive a tractor, construct fences and learn further Aussie bushcraft!
A day of mustering and yard work: Today you will feel like a true Aussie cowboy as you muster cattle on horseback and get involved in the branding, weighing, drafting and drenching of young cattle.
This programme is very flexible and itineraries can be amended depending of group preference. You will also not be expected to work beyond your personal capabilities and if you would prefer not to take part in any of the specific activities that is fine.
Saturday
Today your programme will come to an end and you will receive a transfer back to Gympie for onward travel.
Please note: If minimum numbers are not reached, you will join the Real Gap outback ranch-training programme.
