Programme Details
Learn to sail in Australia’s premier location and enjoy the spectacular tropical paradise of the Whitsunday Islands. You’ll be learning a great new skill or building on past knowledge to cruise gracefully across the island bays. When you’re not learning sailor skills you can swim and snorkel in the marine life packed waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
The sailing school that will help you gain your sea legs is an accredited Yachting Australia training centre and has been operating around the Whitsundays for more than ten years. Your instructors are all highly qualified and experienced Yachtmaster Offshore or Ocean Instructors and these courses are recognised internationally.
The yacht will be your classroom it is be modern, speedy and small enough for all the students to have a very hands on experience – beginner or experienced. There is a choice of three courses that you can enrol onto depending on your qualifications and previous experience. All 3 of the courses are available for 6 days/5 nights or 23 days/23 nights.
- International Crew Certificate: Beginner
- International Bareboat Watch keeper: Intermediate
- International Bareboat Captain: Advanced

- 5 or 17 nights onboard accommodation
- 6 nights backpacker accommodation in Airlie Beach (incorporated within the 23 day programme)

- To gain the International Crew Certificate (IYT) there will be an extra cost of AUD$100 paid locally
- Post and pre-nights accommodation
- Meals whilst staying at Backpackers during 6 nights not onboard vessel
- Alcoholic beverages
- $39 AUD pay on board fee per person for Marine/National Parks & Admin Fees
