You have the chance to deeply immerse yourself in intensive and wide-scale conservation management and wildlife support, while increasing your knowledge of the African bush and African culture.

You will also visit some of Zimbabwe’s premier tourist spots, work with Rhinos and Elephants and walk with lions at our breeding and rehabilitation programme in the Zimbabwe Midlands.

The Volunteer Project

This 5-week expedition will give you an intimate insight into Zimbabwe’s breathtaking natural environment and offers you the chance to contribute to some high-impact conservation initiatives.

Working alongside experienced project managers and professional guides, you’ll make a direct and significant contribution towards wildlife conservation in Zimbabwe and research objectives on an Africa-wide scale.

Our voyage down the Zambezi River is a terrific way to kick-start the trip and provides a great introduction to the African bush and its cultures. You’ll navigate your way towards the Victoria Falls by day, along the complex sequence of waterways. By night, you will camp under the stars on the banks and islands of this ancient river, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife.

Week two will see you take part in a stimulating Bush Survival course. During this week, you’ll learn about the characteristics and habits of the animals and gain a deeper understanding of the fragile relationship between man and beast.

From here, your expedition takes you into Zimbabwe’s stunning Hwange National Park where you will work on our hugely exciting and influential conservation project, gaining both unprecedented access to the animals and practical experience in fundamental conservation techniques.

Finally, walk with lions and nurture lion cubs at our special lion breeding and rehabilitation programme before moving on to the exclusive Black Rhino and Elephant Conservation Project, where your efforts will help to protect these species from extinction.

Location

Various locations within Zimbabwe, including the Midlands and Hwange National Park.

Accommodation and meals
