The Blue Wildebeest has dark stripes on the throat and on the sides. They are social creatures and live in groups of 20 to 40 animals, not necessarily all their own species. The members of the herds are usually cows and calves.
The wildebeest graze when it is cool in the morning and late afternoon. During the day they can normally be seen relaxing in the shade of a tree.
