Bolivia Experience

Trip code: BOXP
Bolivia Experience

Regarded by travellers as offering South America’s most authentic experience, Bolivia captivates the imagination like few other countries in the world.

Orientation

You have the choice between staying with a host family or at a student residence (see below). At the start of the programme you will have a comprehensive orientation meeting. This will cover all essential topics such as banks and money, transport, places to see, safety precautions and work ethics.

Accommodation and Meals

Week One: Spanish Language School
Host Family: you will have a shared bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast and lunch will be with your host family, dinner will be a snack at a local cafe. Remember the main meal in Bolivia is lunch! Laundry service once a week.

Week Two: Volunteer work in Sucre
Student residence: shared bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living-dining room, cable TV and a garden. No breakfast or lunch included but you will be provided with a snack at dinnertime.

Week Three: Adventure Week
Accommodation will be in small, basic lodges. Rooms will be based on six people sharing and have a shared bathroom.

Week Four: Community Volunteer
Two nights at a simple hotel (pre and post community stay), followed by six days in the jungle in simple cabañas made of wood and palm trees. Bathroom will be shared with other students and hotel residents.

Free Time

Your Bolivian Experience is pretty jam packed with exciting activities, but there will be occasions that are free for you to spend as you wish. This time will be mostly in weeks one and two, in the evenings. During this time you will be in Sucre so you can go out and enjoy the nightlife with your fellow volunteers and language school students. Or you could use the time to relax and practice your Spanish with your host family!

Project Support

Throughout your experience you will have the support and guidance of your in-country coordinator and their team.

You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your stay.

In addition you will have access to a UK 24 hour emergency contact number.

Project Age Limit

Minimum 18 years old
