Brazil Tennis Coaching
The combination of tennis and volunteering make a great project for anyone who loves to play sports and wants to give something back to underprivileged people.
This is a two part programme. The first part is dedicated to learning the Portuguese language and experiencing the Brazilian culture in Rio. The second part is all about putting your tennis skills to use in Belo Horizonte, coaching players who are disabled and local children.
Voluntary Work
Through sports coaching, the project works to use sport for its therapeutic value, working on the physical and the psychological. Whilst you are taking part on this project you will have the opportunity to get involved in the following activities:
- Assist in classes of the current coaches and take your own classes – developing skills and coordination skills, preparing for games and training drills.
- Helping organise competitions and training sessions
- Umpiring – short games for children, on the projects and in the local favelas.
- Game advice and tactics lessons
- Give advice on health issues, teach new exercises
You are given the freedom on this project to take your classes as you see fit and don’t forget to have loads of fun!
