Brazil Community Development Volunteers Rio

Trip code: BRCD
Community development work in Brazil

The programme lays on educational and vocational courses for over 10,000 local people. The Olympic village itself offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of athletic, educational and professional activities in the city. Indeed, the community that benefits most from the programme currently boasts the lowest crime rate, best school and the highest sport activity attendance rate of any community in Rio.

Your Typical Itinerary

It is difficult to provide you with a schedule for the activities that you will be taking part in, as what you will be doing is going to be entirely dependent on what particularly needs doing at the time you are on the project, and which areas you would like to work in. These projects are extremely flexible, allowing you to get involved in any number of different aspects of this programme - all of your help will be very much appreciated.

On your arrival at the project, you will be able to discuss all this with your programme co-ordinator, who will then be able to help you draw up some kind of schedule. You will have the weekends off and are expected to work at the projects for a minimum of ten hours a week – though you may want to aim for three to five hours a day (more if you wish) to get the most out of the project.

Please note: Itineraries and activities are subject to change
