This programme incorporates education and conservation as you travel by boat around the islands of the Tinhare Archipelago raising environmental awareness amongst children. You will also be involved in tree planting, assist with local environmental research through recording and monitoring data, and even produce a theatrical performance to raise awareness further throughout the community.

You will be located both on-board the school boat, as well as within schools and in and around the islands allowing you to explore these incredible islands off the coast of Salvador, Brazil.

Volunteer Role

Your role as a volunteer is to assist onboard a school boat that travels around the islands of the Tinhare Archipelago, educating children about the importance of environmental preservation.

In the mornings you will teach the children either on board or within schools, using fun and interactive teaching methods. Many of the activities will take place outside to enable the children to learn about the environment through interactive games. You will work alongside two local teachers.
