Local Orientation
You will have a project orientation on your arrival into Rio. The orientation is designed to prepare you for the project and your time in Rio, so feel free to ask any questions if you are not clear on something or you want to know about something that is not covered. You will be given information on the project and about all the aspects of staying in Rio, from safety to things to see and do.
Once you’ve been met at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation to get settled in. On your first full day in Rio, the coordinators will take your through your orientation and answer any questions that you may have.
Your orientation will cover:
- The local culture – traditions, cultures and social norms.
- How you are expected to behave – at the climbing school and accommodation rules
- Safety – areas to avoid, what to do in case of emergency
- Locations of amenities – banks, hospitals, embassies etc
- Transportation and travel – where to go, how to get there, things to do in free time
Project Support You will have all the support you need throughout your time on the project from the in country project team. They will be around to assist you and to give any advice you may need or to answer any questions that you may have. Please don't hesitate to ask them.
Project Age Limit The participants on this programme may be of a broad age range. Maximum age decided on potential participants health.
Programme Requirements Participants will need to be of a reasonable fitness to take part in a programme of this nature.
