The bushbuck is shy and elusive. All varieties (and there are several) have geometrically shaped white patches or spots on the most mobile parts of the body.
Bushbucks are forest-edged antelopes. They live in habitat including rainforests, mountain forests, forest-savannah mosaics and bush savannahs.
Their diets vary in different habitats, with leguminous herbs and shrubs making up the most part of the diet; grass, fallen fruit, acacia pods, tubers, bark and flowers are also eaten.
