On the China Experience Programme, you have the chance to combine a number of activities and excursions that allows you to experience the real China, learn the language and get to know Chinese culture on a deeper level. You can take part in a demanding trekking week, along with spending valuable time living with a local host family, and working on a community development project.

Programme Age Limit
Minimum age of 18 years, maximum age is dependent on the health of participants.

Project Support
All during your stay in China you will have the guidance and support of our project coordinators. They will give you help you with any questions you have or any advice you may need during your stay. In addition, we give you with a 24 hour emergency contact number before you leave, so that you can get in touch with one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.

Accommodation and Meals

Beijing

On arrival at Beijing airport you will be met by a project guide who will take you to your accommodation. You stay here for three nights; the hotels are a good standard and generally have two people in a room. The hotel is in the famous hutong area of Beijing, close to Tiananmen Square.

Yunnan
In Yunnan, accommodation varies, including all the hotels, hostels, home stays and temples. All meals and accommodation are included for the whole length of the programme. Meals consist of traditional Chinese foods.  Please notify us if you have any special dietary needs when you book the programme.

Getting There
You should arrange your flights into Beijing International Airport. Here you will be met by a programme coordinator and taken to your accommodation. You will also need an internal flight from Beijing to Kunming.
