Volunteer Role
Your role as a volunteer will vary depending on the needs of the project at the time you are there, and on the number of volunteers. You will be involved in some or all of the following duties;
- Panda food preparation
- Serving food to the pandas
- Cleaning enclosures
- Observing pandas and conducting research
- Providing medical care to the pandas
- Time to watch and photograph the pandas
Volunteers will work Monday - Friday. Typical hours are:
8:00am to 12:00am in the morning and 2:20pm to 5:00pm in the afternoon
Please note: Although you will be working in close proximity to the pandas, you will not have any physical contact with the pandas. If there are baby pandas at the reserve while you are there and you would like to interact with them, you can pay a fee to the reserve which helps to fund the research and protection of the pandas, so please be prepared to take some extra money with you.
