Food Lovers Japan
Experience real Japanese culture and cuisine, this tour will take you to explore the famous Tsukiji fish market, followed by a visit to Takayama - here you will find traditional inns, sake breweries, specialised cuisines and ancient temples. You have the opportunity to join monks in zazen meditation during your stay in a Buddhist monastery; then onwards towards Kyoto, stopping in Hiroshima on the way, learn about it's tragic past. Throughout your journey you will get the chance to cook and taste some delicious Japanese delicacies; from smoked oysters and momiji manju to octopus balls, and poisonous pufferfish!
Location
You will spend 14 days travelling from Tokyo overland to Kyoto.
Accommodation and MealsWhilst maintaining a grassroots experience, you will stay in comfortable hotels, guesthouses and homestays with plenty of local character. During this tour, 9 nights will be spent in traditional inns; two nights in hotels and two nights in a monastery. Accommodation is on a twin share basis, or you can pay a single supplement.
Not all meals are included in the price of the tour.
