Galapagos Island Teaching Project
This project gives you the opportunity to teach English in the Galapagos Islands. Learning English is a compulsory part of the curriculum for most schools in Ecuador, however, there are not enough teachers to fulfil this. In recent years, volunteers have filled this gap and freed up sufficient resources to invest in the children's futures.
Voluntary WorkVolunteers will teach English and other subjects they are comfortable with, to children aged 6 - 16 in both public and private schools. Because there is a lot of flexibility in this project, volunteers are able to use their own special skills in their teaching methods.
Past volunteers have been able to teach:
- Music, arts and crafts
- Foreign languages like French
- Sports such as football, basketball etc
AccommodationAll volunteers stay in local home-stay accommodation for the duration of the language school and volunteer placements. Volunteers have their own private room unless requested.
