Ghana Community Volunteers

Trip code: GHCV
Volunteer in the Communities of Ghana

Ghana remains largely undeveloped in terms of responsible tourism and international volunteering. Because of this, Ghana maintains a strong authentic culture and presents many great opportunities for volunteers to assist in a developing nation.

Reviews

Helen Lewis, 29th November - 27th December 2009

What were the highlights of your trip?
Meeting local Ghanaians and experiencing real life in a third world country. Travellling the length and breadth of the country and beyond. Living with my host family. Enjoying the freedom.

Do you have 3 top tips for future travellers?
Don't get laiden down with medicines and toiletries - everything can be bought over the counter. Be open minded to all experiences and learn from them. Realise that you're going to a third world country where the culture is vastly different from what we're used to - time is often irrelevant, roads are often appalling, utilities often get turned off (electricity, water).

Give us up to 10 words that sum up your experience
Achieving your dream is possible - whatever your age.

If you have been on this travel project, we'd love to hear from you!
