Ghana Netball Coaching

If you’re a netball enthusiast and are interested in developing your own skills as well as developing sports in the Ghanaian nation. You could also do some community work, to give a bit of extra help to the underprivileged children of Accra and the surrounding area, so you can make a really big difference in a variety of ways.

Netball Coaching Placement

You will be based in Ghana’s capital Accra, where there are eleven main schools and netball clubs. You will be responsible for the organisation of training sessions and matches and will be working alongside the project coordinator, who is also the full time coach.

You will be coaching various levels – U12, U14 and U17. You can also choose whether you would like to vary your coaching or just focus on a few of the schools and clubs.

Volunteer Role
On the programme, you will be able to take part in a range of activities, including:

Helping to organise training and competitions
Assist the coaches in the sports classes specialising in Netball – this will involve training drills, skill/ coordination development and game preparation.
Be referee for kid’s games at the project and the local community.
Give advice/lessons on netball tactics
Advice on health issues and teaching new sports exercises
Optional - teaching at local schools/ community work

Accra, Ghana’s capital city and other, rural areas.

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation is in a private lodge in Accra, rooms are private and you'll have access to facilities such as a kitchen, lounge and garden. It is possible for you to stay with a local family. Two meals a day are included in the programme.
