Voluntary Work

Volunteer at a rescue centre offering care and rehabilitation to wild animals that have been captured and sold on the black market. The sanctuary for badly treated animals operates with the aim to release them back into their natural habitat once fully recovered.

The animals that stay in the rescue centre are wild animals in captivity and, therefore, have many needs which must be met to ensure they remain in a healthy physical and mental state.

Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining the good health and general welfare of the animals. Daily tasks are varied but include caring for the wildlife, monitoring behaviour and feeding. They will also be required to ensure the enclosures are kept clean and tidy as well as attending to any other specific needs for the animals that may arise.

The centre also offers the opportunity for volunteers to take part in veterinary medical treatment; release of animals and wildlife surveys. This of course depends on the requirements of the centre during your stay.

Your daily responsibilities are varied, unpredictable and will be subject to change, new animals are brought in regularly and tasks will be adapted according to your interests.
