Free Time
Situated in the heart of Argentina, Córdoba is an extremely attractive and historical city. Although modern in parts, the city still manages to retain its rich colonial heritage with a wealth of old churches, spacious plazas, The Cabildo (Old Town Hall) and the prestigious National University of Córdoba.
The city is regarded as one of the safest in Argentina so your stay is sure to be a pleasant one.
Córdoba has excellent transport links with other Argentinian cities with the wine-growing region of Mendoza just five hours away by bus. What’s more, with its raft of universities there is an exciting nightlife with many bars, discos and restaurants throughout the city.
In your free time you have the option to take part in many different activities including swimming, climbing, walking, fishing, horse riding and bicycle riding.
The colonial district boasts a host of modern art and history museums as well as traditional Tango bars, confiterias (tea rooms) and penas (folk music shows). Córdoba 's hills, meanwhile, provide the perfect setting to practice adventure sports such as climbing, trekking, rappel, paragliding, etc.
At the weekend you can choose to visit the National Park of Córdoba Province with its unique species of wildlife, or the breathtaking ‘Road of Traslasierra’ valley, which is located at the foot of the highest hill in the Province.
Alternatively, you could travel to the Jesuit churches and estancias, recognized as a Humankind Cultural Heritage by UNESCO or go horse riding through the mountains of La Cumbre.
Getting There
You will need to arrange your flight to arrive at the international airport of Córdoba City, where you will be met and accompanied to your accommodation or to the language school, in time to begin your orientation.
You should aim to arrive on the Sunday prior to the start of your programme. Alternatively you can fly to Buenos Aries and then catch a bus (approx) 8 hours to Córdoba.
