Help to coach sports in the magnificent and stunning regions of Himachal Pradesh, becoming involved with other important projects, and making a highly valid contribution as a key member of the local community.

Voluntary Work

Your volunteer time on the programme is divided between sports coaching and other valuable community work. There is a huge demand for all kinds of volunteers in both these areas, which means that your efforts and time are gratefully appreciated and the impact you make is invaluable.

Sports Coaching and Development Work
The main tasks of the volunteers will be to initiate sports activities and create sporting facilities for the schools’ students. You will be working in allotted time-slots for the physical education sessions and you are also free to start after-school sports clubs.

Usually the children don’t have a structured environment in which to spend their time, so you can help them to keep themselves fit and put their energies into something beneficial and positive as well.

The aim of this coaching project is to introduce the children to different sports and train them in various exercises and skills. It is vital that while you are providing a fun game or activity for the children, that you also incorporate into your lessons the importance of exercise and of warming-up properly to avoid injury. Your sessions could include:
  • Training games and drills for each particular sport to help clarify the skills being taught
  • Games and community/inter-school competitions
  • Tournament events and contests
Community Work
There are three main choices for your volunteer work, and these include:
1. Childcare
2. Education
3. Education and Care for Mentally Challenged Children
