Join Real Sport Experience’s Sports and Community Project in India and help to improve the physical health of many deprived children. By assisting in coaching sports in the beautiful region of Himachal, and becoming involved with other vital projects, you will be making a great contribution as a much-appreciated member of the local community.  

Project Location
Himachal Pradesh in the north of India.

Project Age Restrictions
Minimum age is 17; maximum age depends on participant’s health

The Sports Programme
On this programme you will be work with communities from the Himachal region and help to teach sports such as cricket, volleyball, football, netball and athletics. Himachal is an area that is still developing and has a great need for volunteer assistance in community work, sports and teaching. With the Himalayas as its backdrop, Himachal is a really incredibly beautiful place to volunteer.

Your volunteer work on the programme is shared between coaching sports and other valuable community work such as education, childcare, and education and care for mentally challenged children. 

Programme Support
All through your stay in India you will have the guidance and support of our local project coordinators. The school staff will be available to help all through the day and the sports coordinator will give you with any other assistance you need. As well as this, we supply you before you leave an emergency contact number, operational 24 hour a day, so that you are able to get in touch with one of our UK staff at any time you need to.

Programme Orientation
On your first full day at the programme location you will be given a full orientation by the programme coordinators. The orientation includes: a basic introduction to India culture; Simple language tips and lessons; Safety and Health information; visiting the area and also the school and the staff that you will work with

Meals & Accommodation
You will be staying in a large stone house that overlooks a spectacular landscape dominated by glaciers and peaks of the Himalayan mountain range. All your meals are included on this project.

Getting There
You should arrange your flight to New Delhi airport where you will be transferred to the project.
