This programme is perfectly suited to individuals wanting to work and train in the winter sports industry if you have only have a limited time to qualify.

Instructor Training Programme

This program offers one of the best possibilities of gaining your NZSIA/SBINZ CSI Qualification, allowing you to instruct up to advanced beginner students (levels 1 and 2). The program is fairly intense, and you will have less time available to work on your own technique than the eleven week programs; however, with around 75 hours of on-snow instruction and your own free time to work on any technical aspects of your skiing or snowboarding, you will have ample chance to reach all the necessary standards.

One of the chief benefits of this program is that you are able to apply for a Japanese Working Holiday Visa before you arrive in Japan. This allows you to do paid snowboard/ski instruction at one of the ski schools after you have completed your course. The coordinator of the instructor programme is well connected with many of the ski schools in the area and can help you gain interviews.

The programme is intended to help you attain the SBINZ/NZSIA CSI Qualification. These are the New Zealand counterpart of Ski/Snowboard Instructor qualifications (instructing beginners and advanced beginners), allowing you to seek work in ski schools in New Zealand and other countries like the US.

Programme Location

Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan

Accommodation and Meals

All your accommodation is included in the program, based at the small village of Hirafu. You will be staying in shared self-catering apartments/houses with other students from your course.

Meals aren’t included on the course due to each student’s varying training schedules. Students are should be prepared to cater for themselves and allow a budget of around £40-50/week for meals.
