Kenya Camp Life

Trip code: KECL
Volunteer with kids in Kenya

Live and work alongside a rural Kenyan village as part of an ongoing community development programme with a local primary school and the surrounding village. Help improve the lives of the local people by enabling the community to become self-sustaining. The hands on volunteer activities provide an authentic and very real immersion into normal African lives. It is ideal for all those that have a desire to give something back, experience new challenges and help make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.

Your Typical Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive into Mombasa
Today you will arrive into Mombasa where you will be met at the airport by the in-country staff. You will then take a drive through Mombasa town to the South Coast, through rural Kenyan villages and on a scenic drive to the tented camp in Makongeni in time for lunch. After a bit of time to settle into your accommodation, you will then be given a full briefing and orientation before you sit down to enjoy dinner. (LD)

The sanctuary is famed for it’s high number of elephants. Spend your time at the sanctuary learning about elephant behaviour and the threats facing this amazing animal. (BLD)

Day 10 – Departure

Please note: The exact nature of the work you will be involved in will depend on the current needs and priorities of the community. We also reserve the right to change the order of your itinerary, not the components, to suit client numbers and seasonality.
