Accommodation and Meals
Camp Tsavo is a permanent bush camp situated in the centre of Rukinga Sanctuary and set out like a traditional African village.
Each family will have their own hut and share bathroom facilities. There is a large mess area, and a large campfire area, which are used in the evenings to relax after each action-packed day. The camp is securely protected from wildlife by a fence all the way around.
The kitchen is at the heart of the camp. The resident chef and his team will keep you well fed during your stay. The food provided will be a mix of traditional Swahili dishes and traditional menus, using high quality local produce. Most dietary requirements can be catered for. Tea and coffee are also available throughout the day in the communal area.
Project Support
Throughout your stay in Kenya you will have the support and guidance of the project coordinators. They will be able to assist you with any advice you may need during your stay, and during national park visits you will be accompanied by experienced tour guides. In addition you will have access to a 24 hour contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.
The minimum age for this programme is 6 years. Volunteers aged 6-15 years will pay the child rate, volunteers aged 16 years and older will pay the adult rate.
Project Requirements
None of the activities featured require anything more than a reasonable level of fitness. No special skills are required for the project.
