The Ranch Course
This course is very much focussed on horses and the art of Natural Horsemanship. Natural Horsemanship is a specific way of riding, training and working with a horse; in a way that is more attuned with the horse, in terms of its behaviour, instincts and personality.
Training of this sort is suitable for both experienced horse riders and complete beginners. The sort of activities that you will be involved in/learning about are:

Communication- how your horse does it and how to do it back
- Gaining the trust of a horse and giving your horse confidence
- Hoof trimming
- Animal feeding
- Horse grooming and handling
- Games with horses and generally riding out
- Taking your horse swimming! (Only in warmer months)
- Beach rides
- Riding over the farm, daily
- Bush craft
- Showing jumping if you would like to
- Get friendly with the farms hand raised sheep!
- Generally maintenance of paddocks, fences and tack
- Repairing of fences
You’ll also have time to relax with your equine partner with a swim in the local lake or a gallop on a nearby deserted beach

- 2 nights accommodation in Auckland hostel
- 2 Breakfast’s at Auckland hostel

- A 5-day Kiwi Cowboy Experience

What’s Not Included in the Programme
- Personal travel insurance for the duration of your programme, which should cover for repatriation
- All flights/transport to Auckland
- Bus fare to and from Westgate from Auckland ($9.70NZ each way)
- Accommodation on Friday night at hostel in Auckland
- Lunch and Dinner while at Auckland hostel
- All activities over and above the planned itinerary
