Gap Year for Grown Ups is launching their new brochure at the One Life Live show, Olympia, London. With hundreds of programmes in over 35 countries, programmes from two weeks to two years you can volunteer with people, wildlife or in conservation or learn new skills or simply explore.
Real grown ups can be 30 or 90….It's more about a frame of mind than a date of birth. With many new destinations featured, there are even more great programmes on offer.
In Latin America there has been a significant increase in programmes to keep up with customer demand.
We have developed a range of “Experience Programmes” incorporating language lessons, volunteering and country highlights whilst living in a family and experiencing the real Latin America.
What about Bolivia? Work with the indigenous Tacana tribe, visit the salt flats of Potosi and learn to cook traditional Bolivian cuisine.
Or help the disadvantaged children in Cordoba, Argentina on the four or six-week “A Brighter Future” programme?
In Indonesia, the new two week and four week “sun bear and orang-utan project” will contribute to the overall rehabilitation of Indonesian Borneo. From reforesting decimated areas that were once tropical rainforests to working with native animals such as the sun bear and orang-utan.
In Swaziland, one of the continent's poorest countries, there are two new programmes - staying for four, eight or 12 weeks - you can get involved in teaching and orphan care.
“Whale Shark and Marine Conservation” in Mozambique is also new. Taking four, eight or 12 weeks, you will gain your PADI diving qualification whilst conducting research into manta rays, indicator fish species and coral condition.
In Tasmania, there is the new 2-week “Conservation Experience” - you'll take part in a variety of important conservation projects whilst enjoying the national parks, reserves and wilderness that Tasmania is famous for.
Lauren Mackay, brand manager, Gap Year for Grown Ups says, “We are delighted with the new range of programmes on offer. The market is constantly evolving and there is no average grown up traveller or experience. We have developed new programmes in line with our customer requirements.”
