Malawi

Often described as 'The Warm Heart of Africa' due to the friendliness of its people, a career break in Malawi with Gap Year for Grown Ups is a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Malawi has a huge variety of landscapes. These include the hiker’s paradise of the Mulanje Massif to lowland plains and wildlife reserves. Lake Malawi, where the Malawi voluntary work project is based is Africa’s third largest lake, lined with hundreds of miles of golden sandy beaches and boasting hundreds of species of tropical fish.

Teaching Sport in Malawi

Make a vital contribution to a beautiful but impoverished country. Give the teachers a much-need hand with English and maths, and help set up sports training sessions and competitions. A little time will make a lasting difference.

Malawi Teaching Volunteers

Schools in Malawi are seriously under funded with little resources and a lack of trained teachers to educate classes of sometimes up to 200 children. Volunteer help is desperately needed.
