The Volunteer Programme
This unique programme offers volunteers the opportunity to experience the real Malaysia whilst contributing to the community and conservation developments. Volunteers will work with Orang-utans and other animals in a Malaysian Zoo, visit a Wildlife Centre to observe Orang-utans in rehabilitation and spend time with locals in a rural village teaching children and young adults.
Activities include:
- Community Development - visiting schools to teach local children about nature and the environment
- Habitat restoration through replanting and maintenance of rainforest areas
- Wildlife Population Density Data Collection from Orang-Utans and Pygmy Elephants (data is used for University and NGO research)
- Conservation work
What’s Included in the Programme
- All accommodation - simple, basic and with bags of character - based on dorm style with a minimum of two persons sharing
- Food - inclusive as part of food allowance or meals will be provided - please see itinerary for details
