Gap Year for Grown Ups Case Study

Just before leaving for Nepal I felt determined but a little apprehensive. I should not have worried the Nepalese people are so warm and welcoming that I never felt unsafe for one moment.

Gap Year for Grown Ups Case Study The project exceeded my expectations, I did not realise just how close you can become to other people in such a short time. Every location was different, the sights and sounds, and meeting many people was wonderful.

This trip has had a hugely positive impact on me. It has made me realise that material things do not bring happiness, true happiness is helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

The moment I will never forget was on my last day. I wanted to say goodbye to the children at the orphanage before they started school but I got held up in traffic. I was disappointed not to see them but as I walked past I heard a small voice calling my name and a small boy from the home came running out and grabbed me around my leg. Then all the children came running out of school calling my name and trying to grab my hands. It was very emotional and a happy time for all of us.
