Programme Details
Students in Moldova learn English as a second language from the age of 10 years and upwards. Volunteers are needed to work in primary and secondary schools to help teach conversational English. Moldovan children are eager to learn and discover more about life outside their own country and volunteers become popular members of the teaching team.
Voluntary Work
Class sizes usually consist of 30 students and there are a wide range languages spoken due to Moldova’s geographical location and past cultural influences.
As a volunteer, you will work predominantly in English language lessons, but if you have any specific qualifications which you feel may be beneficial then you may be able to help out in those areas. There may also be opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular lessons such as sports coaching, music and art lessons. Volunteers can also teach French if they prefer.
