Orientation
You will be given an orientation upon arrival. This will include detailed information about the project and the surrounding area.
Accommodation and Meals
Throughout the project, volunteers will be housed in hostel accommodation to be shared with other volunteers and project staff. Accommodation will be simple, and we recommend that volunteers bring their own sleeping bags. Although basic, the accommodation will have:
- Electricity
- Hot water and drinking water
- Western-style toilet and bathroom
- Access to laundry facilities and a telephone
Special dietary requirements
If you have any special dietary requirements, it should be possible to cater for these, however, please note that meals are based on foods that are available in the area, so you will need to monitor your own diet.
Free Time
During your programme you will have plenty of free time to fill as you wish. We would encourage you to strike a balance between rest and relaxation, which is very important to keep your energy and enthusiasm levels up, and taking advantage of these amazing locations and all that they have to offer. The programme is a cultural experience and you should take the opportunity to taste the authentic Peruvian lifestyle, and to immerse yourself into a new and different society.
Project Support
Throughout your stay you will have the full support and guidance of the project staff. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions, or advice, you may need during your stay. In addition you will have access to our 24-hour emergency number in the UK, so you can contact one of our UK staff in an emergency should you need to.
Project Age Limit
Minimum 18 years, maximum dependent upon individual participant’s health.
