Voluntary Work
Volunteer on this extremely rewarding programme helping young children with physical or mental disabilities. The centre gives free treatment but recently had funding from the Government cut, so it is reliant on voluntary help. Time given by volunteers is appreciated.
Volunteers are especially needed in the centre’s infirmary. Tasks include encouraging the children to play, feeding, dressing and washing them. If you have professional training in specialist practices such as speech & physical therapy these skills would be especially helpful. However whatever your experience, it's most important that you simply want to give vital help to this particularly rewarding project.
Normally volunteers help in the afternoon period as the children are in school during the mornings. If teaching appeals to you as well, there are plenty of opportunities to instruct speech, games, Spanish and basic maths.
