Ranch Volunteer USA
This unique project offers you the chance to spend 4 weeks horse riding, ranching, and wrangling on a working ranch in the real American West, nearby the infamous Yellowstone National Park.
No previous horse riding experience is necessary.
Voluntary WorkYou will be living on a working ranch for the duration of your visit and will be expected to get involved with all aspects of ranch life. This means rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in to daily chores, horse wrangling, gathering of cattle, trail riding, cattle branding, and cattle drives.
There are various groups who attend the ranch from Sunday to Friday, and volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in their activities, which include the following:
- Vet days (vaccinating horses)
- Trail riding
- Riding Fence – this means inspecting and replacing damaged fences
- Moving cattle
- Clinics
- Riding with groups of young people and adults
There will also be the chance to take trips into town, take longer rides, and run special clinics at the weekends.
LocationThe project is located near Cody, Wyoming
Accommodation and MealsYou will be staying in a 2-4 person shared volunteer cabin situated on the ranch. All your meals will be served to you in the Hub. This consists of a large dining room and kitchen with a stunning panoramic view of your beautiful surroundings. The Hub also contains the bathrooms for men and women, showers, and a laundry room.
