Voluntary Work

There are a number of important community projects available in Senegal to suit everyone’s interests and backgrounds. Most of our projects are based in the vibrant, bustling capital city of Dakar, or the quieter, more laid back town of St Louis, located on the coastline north of Dakar.

Teaching Placements:
Choose to teach children in a primary, junior secondary or secondary school within Dakar.

Summer Schools:
The work does not end when the holidays begin. During the school vacations in Senegal, you have the opportunity to volunteer at organised summer schools, where children from local towns who lack full-time care can come and take part in fun activities.

Street Children projects:
Domestic abuse, homelessness or addiction are just some of the issues faced by the children attending these projects. Your help will aid their development through education and emotional support.

Medical clinics and health care work:
Volunteers are needed to work in both larger hospitals in Dakar, as well as on smaller community medical schemes.

HIV and AIDS projects:
Play a vital role in educating both children and adults on the threat of HIV and AIDS. Volunteers will move from school to school as well as making home-based visits to families affected by the virus.

Construction projects:
Volunteers will be located on building sites in urban areas of Senegal working alongside local teammates to erect a variety of buildings.

Orphanage projects:
This is a terrific opportunity to provide vital love and support to young children who have no parental influence in their lives - help to change their lives for the better.
