Thousands of Ecuadorian children living in rural communities are denied the chance to earn a good living due to a lack of adequate education. You could try out your teaching skills and benefit these children by providing a balanced and constant learning environment. |

Based in a rainforest national reserve deep in the Amazon, volunteers will patrol local beaches along the river to locate nests, collect eggs, construct artificial breeding beaches, incubate eggs, record data on hatchings and free them back into the wild. |

At the rescue centre you can play an active role in the rehabilitation of wild animals that have been rescued from captivity. Volunteers have the chance to work in close contact with wildcats such as cougars and jaguars, birds, such as toucans and parrots, and numerous other exotic animals. |

This rewarding project revolves around an Animal Rescue Centre offering care and rehabilitation to wild animals that have been captured and sold on the black market. The rescue centre is the largest of it's kind in Latin America and volunteers will have the opportunity to work with many different species of exotic animals. |

There is a great range of tasks for volunteers to do and these vary depending on where your project is located. Activities might include helping the children get ready for school, helping with their homework, preparing activities such as crafts, arts and music and helping with the running and organisation of the home or orphanage. |

Volunteers can help with recreational and educational activities in schools and day care centres all throughout Costa Rica. You will be assisting teachers in classrooms as well as helping the children with basic written and conversational English. |

A great deal of help is required from local communities and volunteers to enable the continued existence of Costa Rican turtle species. One way in which volunteers can help to address these declining numbers is assisting during the turtle-nesting season. |
