Voluntary Work

Many children of the townships in the suburbs of Cape Town live in difficult situations, the effects of poverty, and are not receiving the sort of education that they are entitled to and would help them to get out of their current lifestyle.

This project provides vital teaching assistance, in the shape of volunteers like you, at two schools within a particular underprivileged community, Fish Hoek. You will also be assisting in various community projects and development initiatives so that you have a varied and challenging Cape Town adventure and a bit of a glimpse into the lives of the underprivileged individuals that you are helping.

Programme Highlights:
  • Working, in various areas, with orphans and vulnerable children
  • Helping to lift a community through education, health and building
  • Reading to and doing craft with the children
  • Sports coaching
  • The chance to immerse yourself in the South African culture

What’s Included In the Programme

  • Project Fee: this entails financing that goes directly back into the project that you are involved with.  This project fee facilitates funding for items such as teaching materials, sports equipment, supplies, teachers’ salaries etc. Project fees are also used to buy vehicles/equipment and for developing new housing for volunteers to provide for the expansion of the project.
