Monitoring and research will mainly be focused on Cheetah, Wild dog, Black Rhino and Vultures, though other species such as however Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Hyena, White Rhino and Buffalo may also be monitored during your stay.

Your work at the reserve will require a very hands-on approach to day-to-day tasks, activities you are likely to be involved in include:

  • Night excursions to monitor wildlife
  • Bird ringing
  • Conservation work within the community
  • Alien plant control

The information you gather will be instrumental in helping conservationists to specialise their efforts for wildlife preservation. Monitoring is an important part of following population demographics, animal movement patterns, habitat utilisation, and poaching incidents. An increased knowledge of which will assist with the streamlining of introduction and removal projects for endangered species, and help to provide conservation authorities with vital data and information.
