Programme Details
This building project aims to assist these vulnerable children in numerous ways which include: constructing basic shelters, water systems, gardens, fences, and other physical structures needed in child headed households and care centres. You will also offer support as an adult role model to the children by transferring your skills and developing basic accommodation.
The programme requires sensitivity to the needs of the communities and motivation to give your time to benefit these deprived children. You will need to use your own initiative and work creatively in this role.
Depending on the time of your placement, you may get involved in many of the following activities:

Maintenance of existing structures and creation of new houses
- Building of essential infrastructure
- Helping to improve basic shelter structures for disadvantaged children
- Painting educational murals at care centres
- Painting existing structures
- Organise fundraising events to help the vulnerable children
- Enhancing Orphan care centres by creating vegetable gardens

What’s Not Included in the Programme
- Personal travel insurance for the duration of your placement, which should include cover for repatriation

- Soft drinks, wines and spirits
- Any excursions over and above your planned itinerary
