Programme Details

This programme uses sports as a means to help young adults and disadvantaged children in rural community areas. The project’s principle is that by giving an environment and a structure in which to play, disadvantaged children and young people will have the direction and stimulation to keep themselves busy and develop in positive ways during their vital formative years.

As a volunteer, you will assist with a diverse range of important activities, with your main responsibility being co-ordinating the sports initiatives. There are possibilities in three main sports (netball, football, and volleyball), in which you will run clinics and daily training sessions. If you wish, you can specialise in one sport or you have the chance to coach a whole array of sports – whatever you choose, there will be lots of eager and excited children wanting to join your sessions!

Community Care Centres and Primary Schools
Twice every week, you will work with the volunteers from the care projects to organise sports events and participation days with vulnerable children and orphans from the day-care centres. These children don’t have regular chances to engage in exercises and games or to join regular sporting activities, so your work will be helping to benefit a great many children
