Your Typical Itinerary
In line with the UN Convention Rights for Children, you will be involved in a range of activities on this programme, working closely with the street Children and Orphans on this project.
You will leave the volunteer house in the mornings and catch a dala-dala (mini bus) to the street child centre (around tsh250). You will be volunteering at the project for between 6 and 8 hours a day Monday to Friday. During this time the you will be helping to teach the children a range of subjects, depending on what the children need to be taught at the time. Evening transport will be varied, you can either opt to get the dala-dala back to the volunteer house (approx. tsh250) or if you prefer to stay longer at the project, you can get collected later on by your project manager.
Your weekends are your free time, however many volunteers choose to use this time to help more at the centre or arrange to take the children for visits to the beach and other fun trips.
