Tanzania Community Volunteers

Trip code: TACV
Volunteer in Tanzania within the Community

A varied and flexible volunteer programme including teaching children in the mornings and a number of afternoon activities, such as coaching sports teams, organising music workshops or teaching adults English. What is certain is that you’ll come away from this experience with a new sense of perspective and an incredible feeling of satisfaction.

Your Typical Itinerary

Here is how a typical day in the life of a Tanzania volunteer might take shape. Please note that your project may differ from this, depending on your own experience, project choice and the number of other volunteers on the placement at the same time, and this is simply to give an example:

7am Get up and start getting ready for your project. Eat breakfast.

8am Begin walking to your project. Most are within walking distance: If not, you will catch public transport or will be taken there by project staff.

12pm Lunch break to eat and relax.

1pm Afternoon session working on your projects, approx 2 hours.  Project times vary depending on activity.

5pm End of your working day and time to either relax or spend time with the children in the local community, playing sports or creating extra activities for them

7.30pm Dinnertime with the other volunteers at the house

Please note: Lunch is not included.
