Teach English in Brazil
|
As a volunteer on this teaching project you will be working with children from the local Pavão – Pavãozinho community. The education centre in the South Zone of Rio impressively cares for 353 children from ages 3 months to 18 years. The centre aims to deliver education and medical care, to children and their families who are living in social risk situations.
Voluntary work
This project is located in the picturesque city of Rio de Janeiro, found on Brazil’s Atlantic coast. Its mile-long stretches of white sandy beach, buzzing nightlife and countless tourist attractions, proves this city has something for everybody. Not to mention the infamous Copacabana beach, which is conveniently located in the same district as the teaching centre.
Your volunteering duties involve helping children of all ages and range from teaching classes, tutoring students and helping organize scholastic activities. If your feeling confident you may also be given the responsibility of conducting lessons for your own individual class if the need arises!
In addition to working with the students in the English classroom, volunteers will have the chance to help in specific areas such as sport, art, with computers and childcare in the nursery.
