The Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre provides animals with a safe and nurturing environment before being returned to the wild, as well as looking after those that cannot be released.

Voluntary Work

Volunteers are essential to the running of the Texas wildlife centre. It relies heavily on volunteers to provide care, love, and support to sick, injured, and orphaned animals that have been rescued and bought to the centre. Volunteers assist with the general day-to-day caring of the animals. This includes cleaning out the cages, feeding animals, landscaping, laundry, data entry, nutrition, and so forth.

You must be prepared to be flexible and help with a wide range of duties as and when they are required.

Animals you are likely to work with include:
  • Baby squirrels
  • Baby songbirds
  • Bottle feeding Fawns
  • Baby armadillos, opossums, and other small domestic animals
Those volunteers who opt to stay for 2 months or longer, will have the chance to work with the above animals, as well as the following:
  • Water birds
  • Young opposums
  • Exotic reptiles and birds
  • Baby raccoons
  • Baby cottontails, or jackrabbits
  • Baby skunks
  • Baby raptors

Location

You will be located near Kendalia in the Heart of Texas Hill Country.
