Parks & Peaks - 15 Days

We begin our tour in Seattle, heading north we enter Canada and the beautiful province of British Columbia. Our first night will be spent at a campground in the Fraser Valley area. We continue the next day heading east via Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Park. We stop at Yoko National Park named by the Cree Indians, meaning wonder or astonishment.

We travel along the Kicking Horse River where there are great opportunities for hiking and river rafting. Over the Continental Divide and into the heart of the Canadian Rockies our next stop is Banff. Take in the scenery while biking, hiking or for an easier option take the scenic aerial tramway for a great view. We stop for a relaxing soak in Sulphur Mountain’s hot springs. From Banff we make a short journey to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake- the most photographed lake in the Canadian Rockies.

We continue along the magnificent Icefields Parkway past the turquoise Peyto Lake to the next National Park on our journey, Jasper. Jasper is the largest park in this region of the Canadian Rockies so we take two days to explore this vast and spectacular scenery. On the road to Wells Gray Provincial Park we pass Mount Robson, the highest peak in Canada at 3,954 metres. You can embark on horseback riding or canoeing trips on Clearwater Lake or hike to Helmcken Falls.

Travelling back toward the coast we have an overnight stop in Whistler, best known for its skiing this town is also is packed with summer activities. We continue on our trail and have a ferry crossing to beautiful Vancouver Island. We will be spending the next 2 days at Tofino on the edge of the rugged Pacific Rim National Park. We will go whale watching (in season) before we journey back to the mainland. We head to the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver to sample great restaurants, nightlife and the culture of this great city before heading back to Seattle where our trip completes.
