Starting in San Francisco, you head straight for Yosemite National Park and the beauty of its valley. Explore the high Sierra Nevada Mountains during your 2-night stay. You will stay in the historic Wawona Lodge and spend your time exploring the trails and waterfalls. Enjoy your days before returning to the lodge with a cocktail on the veranda. You will leave the park through the Tioga Pass across the Nevada Desert.

Crossing from Nevada into Idaho you will head for Yellowstone National Park, America’s oldest National Park in Wyoming. This vast park is home to roaming herds of bison along with grizzly bear, elk and wolves. Explore this majestic park, its many geysers and rainbow coloured hot pools before settling into the historic Old Faithful Inn (or Lake Yellowstone Lodge).

After two nights in Yellowstone, begin your journey south past the stunning Grand Teton National Park including a stop in Jackson to enjoy the western vibe. Jackson was once a base for trappers but now is a haven for skiers, modern day cowboys and trekkers. Heading further, visit Salt Lake City and then take in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, to see the thousands of sandstone arches that cover the landscape.

Turning to the west, experience the unforgettable Monument Valley. This valley is home to the Navajo tribes of America. Your local guide will take you on an included 4-wheel drive tour to explain the true meaning behind this place.

Next stop, the national park to beat them all, the Grand Canyon. To truly explore this place you will experience a two-night stay at the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge. Based on the less touristy north rim you have the chance to truly take in the awe inspiring beauty of the canyon and its trails before retiring to the lodge for views of the canyon.

Your final stop on the way to Las Vegas is Zion National Park, truly one of the most spectacular hiking destinations in America. You can choose to walk through the cliffs, which tower above, or take a walk through the narrow canyon. For a fantastic view why not try the 600+ meter ascent to Angel’s Landing. Your tour will conclude in Las Vegas.

You may also have the chance to do some optional extra activities (at your own expense):

  • White water rafting (in season)
  • Hummer Tour
