Project Age Limit

The minimum age for this project is 18 years old; the maximum is decided on a participant-by-participant basis.

You will need to pack lightly for you rafting adventure, but due to the mild and pleasant climate in the canyon, you won’t need much anyway. A few changes of clothes will be sufficient and you will be supplied with waterproof bags to put your things in as well as all camping equipment and a waterproof box for your camera.

Conservation
We ask that every person who travels with us contributes $1 per day on the trip to the Canyon’s Conservation Fund. This will be collected during your trip and put towards keep the canyon Grand!

Prior Experience and Abilities
You do not need to have had prior rafting experience and it even doesn’t matter if you can’t swim, as you are required to wear a life jacket at all times when you are in the raft. Of course, you will need to be confident in and around the water. Also, you will not have a connection to the outside world whilst you are in the canyon – there is no Internet and no phones!

Project Support
Throughout your rafting experience you will have the support and guidance of the tour leader. They will provide you with competent assistance and help you with any questions, or advice you may need.

In addition you will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff before or after your tour should you need to.

Programme Orientation
Before you embark on the rafting adventure you will be given all the information you need about your 8 days on the river, including a thorough health and safety briefing.
