Will I get any time in Las Vegas?

The tour itself does not give you any time in Las Vegas, so if you would like to have some time there then you will need to get to the city early, a few days before the start of the tour. Alternatively, because you return to Las Vegas at the end of the tour, you could stay on for a few days afterwards.

What is Dutch oven cooking?
A Dutch oven is a cast iron/ aluminium cooking pot with a tight fitting lid used for camp cooking. By placing hot coals below it and in the conclave lid, the pot is able to simulate an oven cooking affect that can even be used for baking! They can also be suspended above a fire.

I’m not a great swimmer; can I still do this trip?
Yes you can, as long as you feel happy and comfortable around water. To be in line with health and safety regulations you will be wearing a lifejacket whilst you are in the raft, so in the unlikely event that you do (unintentionally!) fall in the river you will be safe. The raft crew are also full trained to deal with such eventualities.

Will I need much spending money?
You won’t really need any spending money on this trip, as there won’t be anywhere to spend it during the 8 days you are on the river! If you were interested in picking up a souvenir at the beginning or the end of the rafting then you could take a few dollars for that, and obviously you will need money before/after the trip.

I have a particular interest in photography; will I have the chance to get some snaps?
You will have plenty of opportunities to take lots of photos throughout the trip. Whereas you might need to be a bit careful with your camera whilst on the river (especially through any rapids), we make plenty of stops through the day, including a few hikes, taking in the best sights that the canyon has to offer.
