USA Wildlife Sanctuary in Florida

Volunteer with wild animals in USA

Resident animals range from big cats, such as leopards, tigers and cougars to primates, wolves, bears and native American animals. Volunteers have the chance to care for the Sanctuary’s animals in its tranquil and beautiful surroundings.



Your Typical Itinerary

Example Volunteer Day

10:00 The day begins with breakfast and instructions of the duties to be completed that day.
10:30 Enclosure cleaning, construction and other chores are carried out.
12:00 Feeding of domestic and farm animals’ onsite.
13:00 Lunch with other volunteers and others onsite. Cleaning of the kitchen.  
14:00 Fresh food preparation. Volunteers will cut fruit for monkeys and bats then distribute the food to the animals. Store food for nocturnal animals until needed. 
16:00 Animal enrichment and other projects. (Monday – Friday) Some volunteers will go to town with a member of staff to buy produce and animal care supplies.
18:00 Take time to cool off in the freshwater pond onsite or read, relax and socialise etc. Volunteers will participate with cooking dinner.
19:00 Dinner. Clean up the kitchen.
20:30 Feed nocturnal animals. Socialise around the campfire or other leisure activities.

You will work 9-10 hours per day. You will usually have two half days off per week.
