Volunteer in Thailand
If you volunteer in Thailand with Real Gap you can experience the most popular backpacking destination in Southeast Asia and its many highlights including pristine tropical beaches and the fantastic city of Bangkok. As a volunteer in Thailand you can ‘give something back' at the same time. Real Gap has two excellent programmes giving you the opportunity to volunteer in Thailand and experience Thai culture on a far more intimate and personal level than most other backpackers.
Volunteer in Thailand - The Ultimate Experience
If you would like to volunteer on a career break in Thailand and experience everything this beautiful country has to offer then Real Gap's comprehensive Thailand Discovery Programme is ideal. You can volunteer in Thailand on a range of really worthwhile projects and also find time to squeeze in as many of the sights as possible. For example you could volunteer in Thailand teaching English to Karen children in the hill tribes of northern Thailand or, if you are passionate about wildlife, get involved with projects dedicated to improving the welfare of elephants or Langur monkeys.
Before you volunteer in Thailand on the ‘Ultimate' programme you spend the first four weeks on an unforgettable journey through the country - among the many highlights included are Bangkok, the ‘Golden Triangle', jungle trekking, elephant riding, hill tribe villages, rafting on the Mae Klong River and the tropical island paradise of Koh Chang. After the four weeks have finished you can then choose to volunteer in Thailand on your chosen project for either two or four weeks.
Volunteer in Thailand
If you would like take part in voluntary work in Thailand and are particularly keen to learn more about Thai culture then a good alternative to the ‘Discovery' programme is Real Gap's Thailand Experience Programme. With the ‘Experience' programme you also have the opportunity to go jungle trekking and stay on an island (Koh Samet) before you volunteer in Thailand. However, it also gives you the unique and privileged opportunity to spend three days in a Buddhist monastery learning about meditation and Buddhism from the monks.
When you volunteer in Thailand on the ‘Experience' programme the range of volunteer projects are also particularly focussed on caring for various disadvantaged communities in Thailand. For example you could volunteer in Thailand caring for the elderly, helping out in an orphanage or teaching English in a school.
If you would like to volunteer in Thailand and have any questions regarding either of the above programmes you can speak to one of Real Gap's team of expert travel advisers who will do all they can to answer them.
